KINETICS AND SAFETY OF
SOY LECITHIN PHOSPHATIDYLSERINE (PS)
ABSORPTION.
This report summarizes results of a study on the kinetics of soy lecithin
phosphatidylserine (PS) absorption by the body. The study was carried out in July 1996
with standard soft gelatin capsules containing soy lecithin PS complex supplied by
Lipogen Ltd.
EFFECT OF SOY LECITHIN PHOSPHATIDYLSERINE (PS)
COMPLEX ON MEMORY PAIRMENT AND MOOD
IN THE FUNCTIONING ELDERLY
This double-blind study assessed the influence of plant phosphatidylserine (PS)
product on memory and mood in functioning elderly, aged 60-80 years old, and living
in the community. Seventy-two subjects, randomly assigned to placebo and therapy
groups, were treated for three months with 300 mg. PS daily. Results showed a large
and statistically significant positive influence of treatment on both memory and mood,
whereas influence of placebo was small and non-significant. This influence was
stronger with higher pre-treatment memory scores.
LONG TERM EFFECTS AND SAFETY OF
SOY LECITHIN PHOSPHATIDYLSERINE (PS)
TREATMENT IN COGNITIVELY IMPAIRED
OUT-PATIENT GERIATRIC POPULATION
Phospholipids are present in nerve cell membrane, and are essential for cell membrane
functioning. The amount of Phospholipids in neuronal membranes declines with age,
particularly of PS, which correlates with the level of cognitive impairment.
The Geriatric Institute for Education and Research in Kaplan Medical Center has performed in the past two studies on soy lecithin PS complex, one with normal aged patients, and the other with Alzheimer's Disease patients. The patients of these studies showed improvement.
Did you know that Lipogen PS Plus contains PS (phosphatidylserine) and a supporting phospholipid called PA (phosphatidic acid)? This combination of nutrients can help energize your mood and memory.
